Hello Reader, It's Dr. GreeneBarr here with this week's prophetic message for your meditation and action.

For a couple of weeks, there has been a message placed in my heart that I've allowed to shine a light from the heart of God into my meditation, and today, I'm ready to share it with you.

🔆 This light is shining on identity!

Allow me to take you into my personal history for a bit.

It was June 20, 1994 (if memory serves me well), and I was spending my summer as a first-year seminary student working as a hospital chaplain. On that day, I entered the room of a patient who was awake and sitting in bed, looking like she was waiting for someone. I walked into the room and introduced myself. Her response caught me off guard!

"Oh, you must be the person God has me waiting for!"

The patient immediately began to prophesy to me, but the one thing that seemed to catch her off guard was the moment when God said to her, "She doesn't know who she is."

Without filtering what God had spoken to her, she said to me..."Wow, God says you don't know who you are."

Reader, that is the whole issue surrounding identity. We don't know who we are! We know our name, we know our relatives, and we know what we do to earn a living, but we don't know our identity in God (in the current moment and in the bigger Kingdom picture).

I've gone back to God many times since that prophetic moment in 1994 with questions about what I should know along the way of being involved in ministry, parenthood, marriage, family, and friendships.

I knew I was a Prophet because God told me long before I answered my call to ministry.

I knew I was a Prophet when I went to seminary and entered the ordination system.

I knew I was a Prophet when I walked into her hospital room, but I didn't know the fullness of my Kingdom identity as a Prophet of God. Worse...I wasn't around anyone who was capable of guiding me to understand my identity.

Why is identity critical for every devoted follower of Jesus Christ?

It's because identity is the grounding force that allows you to be and remain useful in God's agenda from one season to the next. Otherwise, you will become obsolete.

I've seen it happen in the lives of others who love God deeply, and it is one of the saddest situations to witness.

Everything about your walk with God, your faith, etc, can become obsolete!

By obsolete, I am in NO WAY referring to this twisted cultural anti-spirit, anti-God prevalent in society, and sadly, some church cultures that espouse the humanistic theology that invites the practices of other deities and doctrines of devils. Absolutely not!!!

Allow me to continue using the words of Jeremiah to bring clarity.

God not only formed us but also formed our identity and consecrated us to fulfill it before we were born. Let that sit with you for a moment.

Knowing and forming is not merely a descriptor such as Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Apostle, Helper, Deacon etc...but it is specific to the cellular level of consecration.

God gives our endowment of gifts, skills, and talents to enable us to execute our responsibilities as defined by our identity and the matters for which we've been consecrated.

Yet, if we don't know our consecrated identity, we may squander our time in useless pursuits. We may squander our minds and emotions on life-sucking commitments. We may squander our vision on the victories of past times.

Worse, we may begin to allow our God-formed and consecrated identity to become distorted by diabolical traps set by unclean spirits, resulting in us coming into agreement with an identity that is contrary to what God consecrated.

Reader, if you want to be useful and not obsolete, think about your consecrated identity and ask God if you know who you are in this current moment of your life.

Back in 1994, I walked into a room to execute my summer duties as a hospital chaplain and came heart to heart with God's most important concern for me at that moment: my identity.

I'm convinced that I've been able to remain relevant and useful in the hands of God because I've continually asked God about my identity in the current moments of life. Some of those moments have been a hard road to travel and incredibly lonely. But I knew my safety resides in remaining devoted to my consecrated identity. When you function from within your consecrated identity, that's when it becomes a fact that "no weapon formed against you shall prosper".

Outside of it means you are fair game for destruction. ⛔️

Reader, if you know me intimately, then you can attest that I'm not built like most of the people who have come into, around, and out of my life. I'm built for my consecrated identity, not necessarily for their pleasure or approval.

📆 Last year, when God instructed me to host a 23-day positional consecration, it was for me and for anyone else who wanted to be in position for their next Kingdom assignment. Those 23 days were meant to help us "think in our heart" according to what God had consecrated for us while we were in our mother's womb.

As a Prophet of God, I say to you - Don't think yourself into obsolescence.

Guard your consecrated identity and allow it to light your path, your career, your relationships, and your love interests (in all your ways, allow it to direct you).
